The Choir’s history is deeply intertwined with the Festival as both were founded in 1964 by Dr John Coope MBE (1928-2005). Dr John conducted the Choir for 37 years before handing the baton to Donald Judge\, a member since 1976. Sadly\, Donald passed away in 2025 and the Choir is now conducted by Christopher Cromar.
