Even more free entertainment for the family!
Monday 27 May is family day on the Rec and there’s going to be a lot going on…
11.00AM: Dog Show
The Bollington Vets and Caroline Thorpe (from Off Leash) will be hosting a Dog Show where you can simply show off your best friend’s gorgeous looks and shiny coat or impress everyone with their agility on a gentle hoopers course (a series of hoops, barrels, and tunnels)
12.00pm – 4.00PM: Magical Story Jars
Calling all children from 3 years to 12 years – come and create imaginary stories using a Magical Story Jar (story starter cards with text and illustrations, sprinkled with magic dust to make the stories awaken); also make a festival crown and a cress head character from your story. Children must be supervised by an adult; under 3y will be welcome in the reading corner, but will also have to be supervised by an adult
12.00pm – 4.00pm: Children’s Potting Table
Try your hand at gardening – plant flower seeds in a special compost, take your pots home, water them, and watch the flowers grow; no skill needed, it’s just botany, a bit of mess (but not much thanks to the special compost), and lots of awe and anticipation as the seeds germinate and grow
1.00pm – 3.00pm: Bollington Balloons
The creations made by Alex Ireland of Bollington Balloons are so impressive that young and old will be wowed by the amazing complex figures and animals. You’ll definitely want to collect yours and take it home. So, do come and find Alex as he wanders about the Rec
1.00pm – 3.00pm: Face Painting by Danielle Barlow
Who doesn’t like face paints, glitter, and fabulous sparkly temporary tats; all top-quality hypoallergenic products. Children and teenagers, don’t miss out!
3.00pm – 4.00pm: Bolly Bubbles
Fantastic huge bubbles. Wonder at them, pop them, make them! An hour of fun for all children between 1 and 101. But be careful; the grass might be slippery from all that soap!
All Weekend and not to be missed:
-
Yarn Bombers
Be impressed by the extraordinarily clever woolly creations made by Janine Holmes and her team of knitters. Enjoy the theme of a ‘British high tea’; their needles have been busy for well over a year. -
The Beer Tent
Always suprisingly popular… -
An English Tea Room
The quintessential essence of the Jubilee Jamboree -
Food outlets
We all get hungry at these dos… -
