Party @ the Rec

The Manchester music and dance scene comes to Bollington.
Zed Bias, a renowned DJ based in Manchester, will headline the Festival’s Party @ the Park and offer some serious sound. Zed will be supported by the indomitable Smugglin’ Budgies who, playing an eclectic repertoire of songs spanning the decades, are guaranteed to get the Rec dancing right at the start of the party. So, polish up your best dancing moves and join us.
Supporting Act: The Smugglin’ Budgies (7pm-9pm)
Led by two cheeky horn players, the Budgies belt out sing-along dance and floor-filling party classics, where the groove is driven by a rock solid rhythm section and the keyboards and guitar bring the flare. Mix this with years of experience and a set list that has something for everyone, and you have got the makings of a great night. We dare you not to dance and sing along, because when Smugglin’ Budgies hit the stage…the party atmosphere is guaranteed…!
Headline act: Zed Bias (9pm-10pm)
Dave Jones, better known as ZED BIAS, is a MOBO Nominated Music producer, arranger, remixer, guest lecturer, and DJ, based in Manchester, UK.
Lloyd Bradley, author of Bass Culture : When Reggae was King and Sounds like London : 100 years of Black Music in the Capital, has said of Bias: ‘For well over two decades, shattering stylistic standards has been his trademark, as he builds on whatever base takes his fancy – house, UK garage, dancehall, funk, broken beat, dubstep, dub reggae and so on – then shifts that particular piece of music into areas that are never less than surprising. Zed is incapable of doing it any other way, as he believes such perpetual motion is a natural by-product of today’s studio environment that positively encourages new ideas and the overturning of convention.’
Zed Bias was one of the original resident DJ’s at the infamous club, FWD>>, the East London birthplace of Dubstep culture. Since then, Bias has toured the world both as a DJ and a guest lecturer for Red Bull Music Academy.
